Queen’s Park in New Westminster is the city’s flagship park. This large, sprawling park is packed with amenities that cater to families and individuals alike. Some of the highlights include the hockey rink, the rose gardens, a petting zoo, The Gallery at Queen’s Park, a spray park, and many sports fields. The entire park has a variety of walking trails with both gravel and cobblestone pathways and is great for hiking, jogging, cycling or strollers.

It is also one of the few parks in the region that allows responsible drinking within designated areas. So bring your favourite bottle of wine and enjoy the gorgeous scenery with a picnic! The park has lots of places to sit and relax whether that be under the shade of a tree, on a bench or at the gazebo. There are also several playgrounds, waterparks, a splash park, a stage for performances and a couple of trails that wind around the park.

Parking can be found at Blacklock Elementary School off of 206th Street. There is a lot and a drop off area and there is no fee to enter the park. There is however a donation box on the way out and there is no minimum.

The grounds of the Queen’s Park Arena host a variety of events including concerts and sports. The Arena has seating for up to 2,000 people and there is also a Stadium that seats the same amount. The grounds are also home to the New West Skatepark and Tennis courts. The park is very kid friendly with a large playground, a waterpark and a splash park along with a small petting zoo. There is also a skateboard park and the Rose garden is breathtaking.

The Gallery at Queen’s Park is a community arts space operated by the Arts Council of New Westminster and has a strong focus on visual 2D and 3D art. The gallery has a variety of exhibitions and programs throughout the year and is open to the public.
