Ambleside Park in West Vancouver
Ambleside Park is a beautiful beach park in West Vancouver that features a 1.2 kilometre seawalk and gorgeous views of the water, Lions Gate Bridge and Stanley Park. The park is a great place for families and visitors to take in the view, enjoy the sunshine and spend time together.
It has a long sandy beach and a pier. It also has a nice walking trail that connects to the other beaches along the Centennial Seawalk.
There are many things to do in Ambleside Park during the summer including swimming, sunbathing, jogging, sightseeing, playing sports and picnicking. There are also many cultural attractions in the area. The park is also home to the West Vancouver Memorial Library and the West Vancouver Aquatic Centre.
Ambleside Beach is one of the most popular and accessible beaches in the area with a large number of visitors. It is a designated swimming area monitored by lifeguards in the summer and is open to the public. However, please ensure you supervise your children at all times and never leave them unattended while swimming.
Tidal Fishing
The tidal waters off of Ambleside Park are ideal for salmon fishing, especially during the summer months. In addition to chinook and coho salmon, pink and greenling salmon can also be found in the area. These salmon can be caught by lure casting a variety of baits and using light spinning equipment.
Aside from the tidal fishery, Ambleside Park is also popular for its picnicking and birdwatching areas. The park also has playgrounds, sports fields and a dog park.
Food & Drink
The Boat Shed is the perfect place to get a delicious meal while taking in the view of Ambleside Park. It is a short walk from the beach and the menu includes burgers, tacos and poke.
It’s a very casual, relaxed atmosphere with a laid back feel and excellent service. It also offers a wide range of cocktails and alcoholic beverages.
You can also have a bite to eat in the concession stand at Ambleside Park. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they even offered a free snack to my kids while I had a quick bite to eat.
Conveniently located near the entrance of the Lions Gate Bridge, Ambleside Park is the perfect location to take in the views of Vancouver, Stanley Park and the Burrard Inlet. The parking situation can be a bit tricky though, so make sure to plan ahead if you want to find a spot near the beach.
Ambleside Park is a popular place for West Vancouver residents and visitors to go for recreational activities such as swimming, tennis, golf and hiking. The park is also a major hub for year-round festivals.
Sightseeing
There are numerous spots in the park where you can enjoy ocean sightseeing and take in the stunning scenery of the Burrard Inlet, Lions Gate Bridge, Stanley Park and English Bay. You can also watch sailboats, barges, cruise ships and speed boats pass by.
